Webpad Basics Consider using hypertext for your own notes: A Web page doesn't have to be made public on the internet. Searches & Stuff Our startup pages: Web searches and directories, newsgroup searches, and other research tools -- with useful (weather, purchasing guides, etc.) and fun stuff, too. S&S Notes Comments on the entries in Searches and Stuff go here, to keep the search page itself short enough to load quickly. Links & Resources Here we temporarily store links and off-line resources that might enhance the regular Dharma-Haven pages. Local Notes We never upload our local version of this page to the Web: It's a space for rough drafts and trying out new ideas. Top |

Making Pages It's easy to create Web pages in a page-view editor -- but a look at the formatting codes sometimes helps. Weblishing and Site Keeping Find a reasonably priced host for your Web pages, upload the pages to your server -- and keep them up to date. Weblicity Among the millions of pages out here, how are people going to find yours? |

Getting accurate descriptions into the Internet searches and directories is quite a challenge. Different services have different methods for deciding what pages to put into an index, and what to provide as a description of a particular Web page. Searching for "dharma haven" shows what people will see if one of our pages turns up in a search. (It doesn't matter what they searched for -- if our page is in the search results, this is how it will look.) Top |
